ONLY YOU

You are so special, just one of a kind,

Unique in your voice, your heart, soul and mind;

Your God-given talents provide options to choose,

But Only You can decide if you win, or you lose.

Only your eyes can decide what today’s mirror sees,

Only your heart ever knows what will hurt, what will please;

Only your soul can judge what is wrong, what is right;

Only your mind can decide to feel tomorrow’s fresh light.

Just as Nature guides the fishes upstream to spawn,

Your path has been charted from the day you were born.

Happiness comes not from where that path might wind,

But from what parts of the journey you retain in your mind.

How you react to Life’s convoluted daily delegations

Will determine your Fate, and your personal relations.

As each decade passes, your trip is well on its way;

How well have you managed to be happy every day?

Does your mirror see angels, or devils gone wild?

Does your heart choose joy with the innocence of a child?

Does your Soul choose the right, make the most of the wrongs?

Do you begin every day with your heart full of songs?

Only you know your pleasures. Only you know your pain;

Only you can make each day a loss, or a gain.

Though your life has been charted, from birth until death;

It is still by your choice you draw each single breath.

You can alter your destiny. A choice Only You can make,

But you’ll need love and determination to alter your Fate.

That love must be for You, by You, for all You desire,

Only then might you achieve the life to which you aspire.

In the decades to come you have two simple choices.

Have a life full of problems, or one that rejoices.

What success you enjoy; what happiness too

Can be determined always . . . . by Only You!
