“Sisters” is dedicated to Paul’s life-long friend, confidante and sister Diane, and the special bond they had through their lives.
SISTERS
Who gives you a cuddle when your life’s in a muddle?
Wants the next dance when you’re short on romance;
Will tell a white lie when the truth you need to deny;
Is that what sisters are for?
Who’s there on the phone when you’re here all alone?
Will just hold your hand, though they don’t understand;
Can be your best friend when you’re at your wits end;
Maybe that’s what’s sisters are for!
Who knows you’ll stand fast as you’ve shown in the past?
Will be by their side when there’s trouble to hide;
Has a secret that’s shared because you have cared;
Perhaps that’s what’s sisters are for!
Who trusts in a brother what they can’t in a mother?
Seeks out your thoughts when they’re all out of sorts;
Cries on your shoulder, whether younger or older;
Surely that’s what sisters are for!
And who, when they’re down, just want you around?
Despite all the fights, seeks your hand on dark nights;
Holds your thoughts every day, though they are far away;
Oh yes. That’s what sisters are for!
