“The Value of a Tear” encourages people to express their genuine feelings instead of always putting on a brave front.
THE VALUE OF A TEAR
If your heart is heavy
And your soul is wracked with pain,
Just close your eyes and shed a tear
Then you’ll find peace again.
When the Great Creator
Put mortals on this Earth,
He gave a set of values for
Each one to judge their worth.
If someone is afraid to cry,
These values are not clear.
For how can joy be recognised,
If other feelings disappear?
Just as night must follow day
And peace is linked with war,
True happiness cannot be found
If sadness you ignore.
Just as Nature will not survive
Without the falling rain,
Happiness can’t be truly found
Without experiencing true pain.
So, if you’re sad or lonely,
Just shed a little tear.
That’s the one and only way
for true happiness to come near.
