“The Journey” is Paul’s analysis how people should view their journey to make the most of their Life.
THE JOURNEY
All Man’s life he must travel, must travel a road,
All his God-given talents he must bear as his load;
He must take them the distance, from birth until death,
From his day of creation until his last breath.
Where are you going? From where have you come?
Does your life have a meaning? Or, fool, has it none?
Do you tread, as a blind man, a path hidden from sight?
Do you hope in your blindness you won’t stumble at night?
If you open your eyes, take the first stride,
Honesty and compassion must stay by your side;
Ready to guide you through a maze full of danger.
Should you deny a good friend? Or help out a stranger?
Friends may greet you with words insincere,
Will they still be there when adversity draws near?
On meeting a stranger, poor or in disgrace,
If you cast them aside, will you not take their place?
Think not of a friend as one whom you owe,
But one, who in life, you must willingly show
A soul without jealousy, or its companion greed,
Honesty with yourself is all you will need.
Are your undoubted talents a burden to bear?
Or are they a gift you are willing to share?
When you give to another a part of your soul,
You have unlocked the secret to a life that is whole.
A stranger you meet, if you show scorn or hate,
Will that not determine the pattern of your Fate?
On travelling the road, keep Truth at your side,
Peace and happiness with then come along for the ride.
If your life is a shambles, the pain that you feel
Must force you to seek peace in a life that is real.
Reality beckons, in the distance a bright light,
Fool, don’t be afraid to walk through the night!
